Our site is really sluggish, even when there isn't much information on the page that is loading. Is there anything that can do in the theme settings to help speed it up?
4 years, 11 months ago #23708Our hosting company is telling us that the theme is causing the issues. Is there a lot of unneeded code, scripts or DB calls that we could improve? It seems like it's loading a ton of unnecessary code. See the attached and link below. I've tried everything but can't get it to to speed up. Please help.
4 years, 11 months ago #23710Hello.
We have installed the Autoptimize plugin to help you optimize your site and improve the speed, you also can you the server cache as Cloudflare.
Please try it again.
Thanks.
4 years, 11 months ago #23711It seems to have changed the styling and fonts quite a bit so things are out of place and fonts styles are all gone. For example the main menu used to be right next to the search button, now it's way to the left (see screenshot). And on the for sale page (https://jjscheckel.com/for-sale/) you can't even see the button anymore, it's just a yellow line (see other screenshot). Some of the fonts throughout the site used to be a lot thicker and larger.

4 years, 11 months ago #23718Yes, I think the issue from the Autoptimize plugin. I have disabled that plugin. Please check it again.
As in the previous message, you can try to use the server cache to help you improve the site speed.
Thanks.
4 years, 11 months ago #23719So the plugin is now turned off? Shoot, it seemed to be a lot faster when you had it turned on. At one point I think it was working - the fonts seemed to go back to what they were before. Maybe we could try turning it back on again? Is cloudflare a plugin?
4 years, 11 months ago #23720I turned it back on but left the CSS section so maybe it only messes up the fonts and alignment when the CSS option is checked? Is it the custom CSS that we entered in the theme options area the thing that it's messing up when this is checked? Is there a way to not have it touch the custom css? Do you think that would help?
