It would be very nice if the Testimonial element woud recognize the "Read More" tag (inserted via post editor).
Use case: We have Testimonial posts with different text lengths, some are short, some are very long. We would like to enable users to read the first few lines of the longer texts and then find a link "Read More" that links to the complete single post entry.
Currently there is no possibility in the front end element to link to the respective single post entries.
Without such links, the restriction imposed by the "Excerpt Length" setting in the Testimonial element seems a bit useless, because it just cuts the text without any possibility for users to get to the complete text.
Thanks,
Steve7 years, 9 months ago #15060Hi,
Sorry for this problem.
I have updated the shortcode "Yolo Testimonial". Please reload your site and check again.
To add the link to the testimonial -> you can use the field "URL" instead of adding the link to post. http://prntscr.com/inhbjf
Thanks.
7 years, 9 months ago #15063Hi tinhbeng,
Thank you very much!
But this ist not exactly what we need. The URL field is fine and we will use it to link to the Testimonial single post, like e.g. http://test3.klosterreisen.de/yolo_testimonial/indien/
(Strangely the Testimonial single posts don't load at the moment, not even as preview. Just the loading animation appears. Please check this as well.)
Links that we place in the text of a Testimonial post should work nonetheless, because we'd like to link to e.g. portfolio items there. This is different from linking to the Testimonial single post. We need both.
Finally we'd like to decide by ourselves where the "Show more" link should appear, if any. We don't need it in every Testimonial post. For this, we we'd like to use the "Read More tag" in the post text editor, see screenshot. This would be standards compliant.
Thanks,
Steve7 years, 9 months ago #15072Hi,
I removed the excerpt length and custom the testimonial "show more" button.
You have used the function "yolo_get_options" in the content.php file (yolo-behealth-child/templates/single-blog/). This function removed in the last new version. -> the error not display.
Currently, I removed this function, you reload your site and check again.
Thanks.
