I added the code and now I have two product sliders, one ordered by date and one by popularity. Both the sliders work but so far they show exactly the same items with the same order, so I'm not able to confirm if this is ok (the shop is still in development so the sales data doesn't make sense now). I'm going to launch the shop soon so I will observe the sliders.
The big question is, if the code change I made will bee kept after the theme update?
I can't give you an admin access to the site since I'm not the site's owner and I'm only helping to bring the page up.
Can you describe what do you need to check or what needs to be changed to fix the error?
Ok, I've already solve this.
Actually there were buttons missing on the cart pop-up (displayed on the cart icon hover) due to my theme settings change.
The cart icon never had any link to the cart page - but IMHO should have, especially when the wishlist icon is displayed too (this icon click redirects user to the wishlist page, so this is also expected behavior for the cart icon).
