Also, it looks like there is no space/padding between the bottom of the portfolio images and the black footer. Is there a way to add 120 pixels of blank space at the bottom of every single portfolio entry?

Yes, I managed to hide the 'author' and 'date' when you are viewing a portfolio item, such as: http://builderschicago.com/portfolio/dock-levelers/
The area that I'm trying to hide the 'author' and 'date' is on the portfolio archives page, found here:
